New Favorites API gathers information from your Favorites2007-09-14 00:56:28

Today we introduced the Hatena Star Favorites API (application programming interface) that lets you gather information from your Favorites. As you know, Favorites are other Users who you have added Stars to within the past one month.

By going to the following page, you can access a list of all your Favorites in JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) format.

This feature is also compatible with JSONP. You can specify the function by defining the callback parameter in the following way.

Example: http://www.hatena.com/username/favorites.json?callback=callback

We hope to expand this feature in the future by providing similar APIs for other Hatena services. You will be able to compile a list of all of your Hatena Favorites at the following page.

By introducing this new feature, we aim for better connection between Hatena Users.

We hope you enjoy using this new feature.

You can now easily set the font for the contracted display of the number of Stars you have received2007-09-13 23:23:48

With this new update, you can now set the font style of the figure that lets you know the number of Stars you have received.

For example, the setting below will make the figure larger.

.hatena-star-inner-count {
  color: #f4b128;
  font-weight: bold;
  font-size: 200%;
  padding: 0 8px;

When you set your font style on the .hatena-star-inner-count selector, your selection will become your default style and will be applied to all of your entries.

Since the release of the image selection function on Hatena Star, many of you have enjoyed customizing your images, and there have been requests to add the same flexibility to the contraction number as well. With this new update, you can now modify the appearance of your Hatena Star.

We hope you enjoy using this new feature.

Daily Star Reports from Hatena Star2007-09-13 06:32:31

From today, you will receive a daily Star Report in your Hatena Message

The Star Report compiles the number of Stars you received on each entry on that day, and lets you know the number of Stars that were added by each User in an easy-to-read chart.

If you have set up your account to forward your messages to your e-mail, you can view the report at your registered e-mail as well.

In the past, it was difficult to track the Stars that you received for your entries, and Users often missed recently added Stars on their older entries. Now you can see all the Stars you have received at a glance in your daily Star Report.

We hope you find this new feature useful.
